Self-hosting OpenClaw means provisioning a VPS, installing Docker, configuring environment variables, setting up reverse proxies, and maintaining the server whenever a new version drops. For developers, that's a weekend project. For everyone else, it's a blocker.

Yes, OpenClaw is open-source and can be self-hosted. However, the self-hosted path requires Docker, a VPS, and around 30–60 minutes of configuration. The managed option on this site skips all of that.

An Anthropic API key (for Claude models) is recommended. OpenAI keys also work. You bring your own key — we never have access to it, and model costs go directly to your provider account.

The Solo plan is the most affordable entry point. You pay for the managed hosting plan (infrastructure, UI, updates) and separately pay your AI provider for token usage. There's no free tier, but you can cancel any time.
